Introducing the project to Xandres' Belgian knitwear partner

Firstly, our concept of using leftover yarns to create new, unique styles was proposed to our Belgian knitwear partner, after which a close collaboration followed.

Inventorying the remaining yarn spools

To figure out the best way of upcycling our yarns, we mapped our remaining yarn spools. By combining the yarns that were insufficient to be used on their own into unique styles, we were able to reduce our waste in a valuable way.

Combining yarns

Together with our knitwear partner, the Xandres design team came up with different combinations of yarns based on their properties, colours and available quantities.

Creating styles

Starting from the potential combinations, our design team created three different, eye-catching jumpers and a plaid: colourful, unique and consisting of the same high quality you have come to expect from Xandres.

Prototyping

Our knitter's atelier is located less than 40 km from Xandres' headquarters in Destelbergen. During the development of the collection, our team payed them a regular visit to stay updated.

Producing in Belgium

Because we wanted to celebrate Belgian fashion and production along with sustainability and circularity, the collection was entirely produced in Belgium, at the atelier of Xandres’ knitwear partner.
